Hansen is a storyteller at heart and musically goes where the song leads her.

Her music draws inspiration from jazz and soul, Americana and Nordic, indie pop, and world music.

Band constellations often center around a combo, with a few added singers and a horn or a reed, but also span from duo or string quartet to big band and chamber orchestra.

Her lyrics embrace both darkness and light. They are poetic, powerful, and personal.

The musical genres are multiple with Hansen, but mainly singer/songwriter in the broadest sense of the term, making Hansen difficult to define, but interesting to follow.

As an award-winning artist, Hansen has received recognition for both her music, her lyrics, as well as her musicianship. 
She also holds a weird, but welcome record streak of Honorable Mention Awards in the USA Songwriting Competition from 2002-2022.
